Sheldon acts strangely, Leonard turns into red and Raj doesn’t know if he’s ready to see someone who broke his heart. All this in the new episode of The Big Bang Theory: The Itchy Brain Simulation.
Checking into a junkbox, Leonard finds a horrible red sweater offered by his aunt, unfortunately he also finds a DVD he rented on Sheldon’s card 7 years before and forgot to return. Leonard begs Sheldon not to overreact as he always does. Surprisingly he agrees.
In fact Sheldon has some plans in his mind. He explains his roommate those unresolved issues make his brain itch. Leonard thinks that problems can be solved calmly so Sheldon decides Leonard should understand how it feels and he proposes him to wear the sweater until the situation is solved.
Meanwhile, Amy, Bernadette, and Penny meets Lucy, Raj’s ex-girlfriend, sat at a table of the Cheesecake Factory. Penny decides to talk to her nicely but quickly she winds up calling her a bad person and telling her Raj is heartbroken. Back at her place, Amy and Bernadette made her notice she shouldn’t have done such a thing – especially since she forgot to serve their meal. When Penny tells Raj what happened, he is angry until Lucy sends him a message proposing to have a coffee.
Unfortunately for Leonard, the DVD story is a long way to go. First of all, the DVD store went out of business. Then the sweater which starts to make him crazy also turns his skin into red. So he decides to find the store owner address to mail him the DVD. Alas, he is dead. Leonard takes the sweater off proclaiming the problem is solved until Howard suggests he could reimburse the owner’s next of kin instead.
Bernadette and Howard invite Raj for the dinner and give him advice for his date with Lucy. At the coffee shop, Lucy apologizes for breaking up in an email. When Raj proposes to date again she tells him she is dating someone already. Mad at Penny, Raj yells at her again until she tells him she’ll set him up with a friend.
After spending hours looking for the store owner’s next-of-kin, Leonard finds that he had none. Amy congratulates Sheldon for being so cool about the situation. On the other side, Leonard blows up at Sheldon, wondering why he is so calm about this. Sheldon finally admits he actually found the DVD seven years ago and paid for it. He didn’t say a word about it because he knew one day Leonard would find the DVD and that he could use it as a teachable moment.
Raj is meeting Penny’s friend, who is really cute, but unfortunately the date doesn’t go well and it all ended by Raj yelling at his reflection in the mirror: “what is wrong with you”.
