Back in the locker room, Peter weirdly asks for the other doctors to insult him to psych himself up for the fight, but Mindy gets carried away by showing him a Facebook post of his ex-girlfriend, Emma, getting engaged to a kindergarten teacher, and calling him a loser. Peter tailspins into an emotional funk, and Danny and Jeremy berate Mindy for not knowing that mentions of Peter’s ex-girlfriend send him over the edge.
In the meantime, Ray-Ron (Josh Peck) shows up backstage at the fight to confront Morgan, accusing him of trying to hit on Tamra. Morgan and Ray-Ron get into a serious scuffle, until Morgan trashes Ray-Ron into the dumpster. When Ray-Ron cries about losing Tamra, Morgan (against his better judgement) tells him to do something to remember their anniversary, promising to try and steal Tamra away the next time he effs things up.
In the ring, Peter’s facing a huge, bearded, tattooed opponent, and he’s all but given up (wanting to be pummeled in the face). Wanting to make up for ruining his concentration, Mindy hops into the ring and gives Peter a pep talk, telling him to picture someone he hates (which is, naturally, the kindergarten teacher). Peter gets a few shots in, but is thrown into an already beat-up Morgan.
While Mindy’s stitching up a heavily medicated but thankful Peter, Mindy offers to talk to him about relationships and “sensitive stuff,” and they finally find a bond. “When I’m high on painkillers, your voice isn’t that shrill,” he says. Jason, who’s been stood up by Mindy for a second time, ends things with her, noting that the difference between the two of them having to do things for work is that he “hasn’t memorized [his] coworker’s sushi order.”
Ray-Ron brings Tamra a teddy bear, to Morgan’s dismay, and Mindy gives the guys their sought-after basketball hoop on the rooftop. Peter naturally ruins the moment with an ill-timed butt slap.
