In a massive shake-up for the hit CBS drama series NCIS, it was announced today that Cote de Pablo will be leaving the show next season. After being with the series for 8 years, her character of Ziva became one of the most popular additions to the show. The move, while shocking for fans isn’t really that surprising. The actress’ contract was up at the end of season 10 and has been the only one not to sign.
Cote will return to the show this Fall to wrap up her time on the show and give Ziva appropriate closure.
NCIS returns to CBS for season 11 on September 24th.
TVLine has her statement:
“I’ve had eight great years with NCIS and Ziva David,” the actress shares. “I have huge respect and affection for Mark, Gary, Michael, David, Rocky, Pauley, Brian, Sean, all of the team and CBS. I look forward to finishing Ziva’s story.”
In a statement, CBS said, “We respect Cote’s decision, thank her for being an important part of the NCIS team, and for eight terrific years playing Ziva David. Cote and CBS share a great respect for the NCIS audience, and we look forward to working with her and the producers on appropriate closure in this chapter of Ziva’s story.”
