Let’s file this as one of the coolest things you will see this week. Remember Are You Afraid of the Dark? AKA that Nickelodeon show that terrified us kids growing up in the 90s? The show that made us scared of clowns that had no nose and rickety boats floating in the shadows? The show that made damn sure I stayed away from pools, libraries, hospitals, comic books, graveyards, doll houses, and just about any other object or place? It also made me incredibly wary of a guy with a questionable hairdo named Sardo (accent on the ‘do!).
Most importantly of all, do you remember Gary? Played by Ross Hull, he was the bespectacled leader of the Midnight Society who was, dare I say it, responsible for all those creepy meetings in the woods. Well, he’s a hot weather man in Canada now! No, no, that’s not the news.
He’s filming a documentary based on his experiences with Are You Afraid of the Dark! Following an appearance at the Slimed! Nickelodeon event in New York City (I was totally there and it was awesome!), Ross has released the official trailer giving fans a glimpse at what’s to come. I’m so excited!
Submitted for the approval..of the Midnight Societ…watch the Are You Afraid of the Dark? trailer below!

Mathew Klickstein, the author of “Slimed!: An Oral History of Nickelodeon’s Golden Age”, has brought together over 250 of the creative forces that helped create Nickelodeon. Through a series of hundreds of interviews, he is able to detail just what made Nickelodeon’s Golden Age so golden.
Now, together with Nick legend Marc Summers, Mathew is bringing these people together for a one of a kind special event. On September 27th, creators, stars, writers, producers and musicians from classic Nick shows of the 80s and 90s, will appear for a once in a lifetime celebration.
I had the pleasure of chatting with Mathew about his new book and the Slimed! event. A couple of months in the making, I’m beyond thrilled to finally share it with you guys.

If you grew up on 90s Nickelodeon, this news is for you. Not only do you have flawless taste, but if you’re in the New York City area, you can now be apart of a special event 25 years in the making. It’s hard to believe it’s been 25 years since Nickelodeon began. The network changed the landscape of children’s television and helped mold a generation.
I am so grateful to be apart of that generation. It’s not the same nowadays.
Partly because the quality of television isn’t the same anymore. Things like iCarly, Hannah Montana, and One Direction are of no interest to me.
I loved growing up watching people like Marc Summers. Seriously, I love him. He’s my hero.

Great news 90s Nickelodeon fans! TeenNick and The 90s Are All That are bringing back SNICK! Celebrating a SNICKiversary, the network and 90s programming block will be bringing back select SNICK favorites for one night only. Yes, you read that right. Unfortunately, it seems that, as of now, this will be a one time thing. Why not bring it back for every Saturday night? Sounds like an amazing idea to me.
Announcing the news in a new promo is Kel Mitchell of Kenan and Kel fame. Seems perfect. Kenan Thompson was the spokesperson when the 90s Are All That was first announced. Too bad they couldn’t get them together. However, the promo also features a surprise appearance from Danny Tamberelli.
Viewers can tune in to the SNICKiversary Saturday, August 17th at 11pm ET. The special lineup will feature Clarissa Explains It All, All That, The Ren & Stimpy Show, and Are You Afraid of the Dark?.
