Drew Van Acker
One of the biggest questions out of last season of Pretty Little Liars was “Where the hell is Jason?” Is he alive? Is he that body in the woods? Is he the body in the trunk?? Jason, played by Drew Van Acker, had a sudden disappearance for his character that left fans wondering about the fate of the beautiful sibling of Alison DiLaurentis. In the season premiere episode of this season “A Is For A-L-I-V-E” we got somewhat of an answer when Mrs. DiLaurentis told Emily that Jason was down south.
Drew Van Acker himself has secured himself a role on Lifetime’s Devious Maids prompting fans to further fear the worst for his future on the hit ABC Family series.
And now it seems that his fate on the show has been revealed.
The highly anticipated new series Devious Maids from Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry and executive producer Eva Longoria is finally getting a premiere date. The series is set to make its debut on The Lifetime Network on June 23rd at 10pm. The press release makes this show sound like one you will not want to miss. And did we mention how awesome the cast is? The series is set to star Ana Ortiz, Dania Ramirez, Roselyn Sanchez, Edy Ganem, Judy Reyes and Susan Lucci. The show will also star a few more of our favorites, including Drew Van Acker and Brett Cullen.
We can’t wait to see this one.
3-Episode Series Also Stars Rebecca Wisocky, Brianna Brown, Tom Irwin, Brett Cullen, Drew Van Acker, Mariana Klaveno, Matt Cedeno, Melinda Paige Hamilton and Grant Show
NEW YORK, NY (April 10, 2013) – Lifetime will premiere its highly-anticipated new drama Devious Maids, executive produced by Marc Cherry (Desperate Housewives) and Eva Longoria (Desperate Housewives), on Sunday, June 23, at 10PM ET/PT.
The ensemble all-star cast, Ana Ortiz (Ugly Betty), Dania Ramirez (Entourage), Roselyn Sanchez (Without a Trace), Edy Ganem (Livin’ Loud) and Judy Reyes (Scrubs), portray five maids with ambition and dreams of their own while working for the rich and famous in Beverly Hills.
In Devious Maids, murder and mayhem collide in the mansions of Beverly Hills’ wealthiest and most powerful families. Class warfare has never been as fun and dirty as it is in the tony enclave where the staff is as clever, witty, outrageous and downright devilish as their employers. Whoever holds the dirt holds the power, and before the season is over, illicit affairs will be revealed and deep dark secrets exposed as we learn the sordid details behind a shocking murder of a beloved housemaid.
The series centers on a close-knit group of maids who are bonded together by their jobs, life struggles and the melodramatic “upstairs-downstairs” universe that engulfs their employers. Rosie (Ramirez), a widow who left her son back in Mexico when her husband died, works as the maid and nanny for a pair of self-absorbed and successful actors, Peri and Spence Westmore (Mariana Klaveno, True Blood, and Grant Show, Swing Town). Aspiring singer Carmen (Sanchez), hopes that her pop star employer Alejandro (Matt Cedeno, Days of Our Lives) can help jump-start her career, but Odessa (Melinda Paige Hamilton, Mad Men), his very loyal housekeeper and her boss, will stop at nothing to stand in her way. Zoila (Reyes) is the senior maid for Genevieve Delatour (Susan Lucci, All My Children), a co-dependent, emotionally unstable wealthy woman. She works alongside her teen daughter Valentina (Ganem), who has a crush on Genevieve’s handsome son, Remi (Drew Van Acker, Pretty Little Liars).
In case you forgot to check out the latest installment of Pretty Dirty Secrets, the spin-off webisode from Pretty Little Liars, you can watch it now here! The episode A Reunion is a lot more interesting than the 60 seconds of nothing that we got for the first webisode. The good thing is that it’s longer than 1 minute. The bad? It’s less than 3. Comment if you agree with me but I really wish they’d make these a little longer. We have such a long break ahead of us until the show returns! Well, at least we get to look at Jason. The clip features him and Cece arguing in the Halloween store about her involvement with Ali. It also features a very mysterious phone call. Toby is that you?
Watch the video and check out the recap here:
The clip opens with Jason walking around the store and making demands from someone on the phone who isn’t being swift about something. “Soon isn’t good enough. Soon went out the window as soon as you cashed that check.” Could this be who he paid off for information about Ali? And judging by the fact Jason calls them “you little..” I’m going to deduce that it’s someone younger than he is. AKA Toby. Although I wish it was Ezra.
In walks Cece who accuses Jason of avoiding her. They have a bad past together blah blah blah. I guess Cece is here to stay.
Jason is sick of her b.s. and basically calls her a monster who turned Ali from a normal bitch in high school to Cece 2.0. Cece throws it back at him with a low blow about his alcohol abuse. Not cool girl.
What did you think of this webisode? Do you with they were longer? Who do you think Jason was talking to on the phone?
Just as I was getting ready to mope about the lack of Pretty Little Liars on my screen until October, ABC Family has changed that. The network will be launching a spin off web series entitled Pretty Dirty Secrets to air on ABCFamily.com during the hiatus. TVGuide reports that 8 episodes will begin August 28th at 5 PT/8 ET and run right up to the Halloween special.
Starring cast members Brant Daugherty (Noel), Yani Gellman (Garrett), Vanessa Ray (CeCe), Brendan Robinson (Lucas) and Drew Van Acker (Jason), the series will take place in the local Halloween store where the town is preparing for the big festivities. A new character, played by Aerial Miranda, will also be introduced.
I am always ready for more Jason. These characters haven’t gotten a ton of focus this season so I’m curious and excited about the possibilities the spin off could bring. Will you be watching?
Whoa! Pretty Little Liars returns with the rest of Season 2 in January. While fans wait for that, spoilers are beginning to leak about what we can expect. Particularly in the Jason category. A huge chunk of the mystery leading up to and including the recent finale surrounded Jason and Spencer’s dad. If you’re curious as to why, we just may have the answer for you. Read more for a huge spoiler involving Jason.
Spoiler: Don’t click if you don’t want to know!
Jason is looking for his real dad!
The last time we saw Jason DiLaurentis (Drew Van Acker) on Pretty Little Liars, he was storming in to the Rosewood Police Station looking for…we’re not quite sure yet. But it looks like we’ll finally get to see what those confrontations with Mr. Hastings have been about. As Jason revealed to TV Guide this weekend, Jason has a special connection with a little liar.
“Jason comes back to town looking for answers as to who his real father is. We’ll learn my character is related to one of the four little liars, which shakes things up a lot. The four of them have always seen Jason as this mysterious creep, but once they find out whom I’m related to, it changes the trust issue.”
All signs point to Spencer (Troian Bellisario) being long-lost siblings with Jason, but this is PLL — you never know who’s who or what’s what until you see for yourself. January 2nd can’t come soon enough!
I’d be so disappointed if I were Spencer and one of the hottest guys in town ended up being my sibling. What do you guys think of this twist?
