“In the morning, glad, I see
My foe outstretched beneath the tree.
In Grimm 6×09, Nick and friends have to deal with a wesen unlike any they have ever seen before – a true force of nature.
Read on for our recap of Grimm 6×09, “Tree People.”
As Grimm 6×09 begins, Eve is out of the hospital after being attacked by the skull creature during last week’s episode. Everyone is reunited at Nick’s loft, where Eve first saw the skull through the bathroom mirror. While our friends are trying to figure what this skull face might possibly represent and why it chose Eve, Diana comes to the rescue. She says it’s something that will happen in the future – something that will happen in the other place, through the hole in the mirror.
The next day, Wu calls Nick to inform him they have a new case. A man who was hunting outside Portland with a friend has called the police, claiming that his friend was killed by a monster in the woods. Wu finds out that there are numerous cases of disappearances in the area. Additionally, he learns that there are large amounts of chlorophyll on the jacket of the man who called the police – a concentration that doesn’t exist in nature. It seems this case involves a wesen…
As Grimm 6×09 continues, Hank and Nick ask for Rosalee and Monroe’s help with the case. Rosalee hypothesizes that a Curupira or a Leshy could be involved – some kind of wesen ecologically wired to protect the natural environment. Hank finds information about a Kinoshimobe, a wesen that matches what they know so far. This could be a case of a wesen that doesn’t woge, because it is a creature living in the woods to protect them. Moreover, Wu has news that seems to reinforce what Hank found out. All the people missing from that area of the forest are responsible for crimes against nature, and the news of another missing person indicates that the wesen has taken the life of a criminal who was dumping toxic liquid.
Nick, Hank, Wu, Monroe, and Rosalee set a trap to lure the Kinoshimobe out. The trap works, and Nick is able to kill it – or did he? When our friends leave the forest thinking that they have stopped the Kinoshimobe, we can see that it might actually still be alive, protected by that nature that it defends…
