American Horror Story 4×02 – Massacres and Matinees – Recap
Just when you thought you couldn’t possibly find someone more creepy than Twisty the clown…
Read our recap of “Massacres and Matinees”, the second episode of American Horror Story – Freak Show.
The city of Jupiter is in shock and terrified for the recent murders, the disappearence of the police officer investigating the death of the twins’ mother, and the young boy still missing. The police is determined to find -a- culprit, and they obsviously look for it among Elsa’s freaks.
Meanwhile, two new freaks have come to town! Dell Toledo, the Stupendous Strong Man, and his wife Desiree, an hermaphrodite.
Remember Dandy? The rich young man who wanted to buy the twins? Well, he is bored, so much that his mother goes out looking for some excitement for her boy. While riding her car, she sees Twisty the clown, remember, our super creepy clown? Instead of running as far away as possible as every sane person would do, she stops her car, and she asks him if he does private parties…
Meanwhile, her son is back to the Freak Show, to ask Jimmy to become part of the show. Jimmy sends him away though, seeing in him just a bored rich boy who’s looking for some fun.
When Dandy comes back, Twisty is waiting for him…
We learn that Ethel knows Dell. He tried to kill Jimmy when he was just a baby.
Dell starts immediately to act like boss around the camp of the Freak Show, and Elsa of course, is not amused.
Twisty gets soon bored himself of Dandy’s company, so he leaves the house to go back to his bus. Dandy follows him, and when the girl and the young boy who are kept inside the bus manage to escape, Dandy instead of helping them, helps Twisty to get them back. What a bored rich boy would do for some fun…
Dell’s idea to have matinees turnes out to be a great one, the public comes to see the Freak Show, and they especially love the twins, Dott proves herself to be a great singer, for the great disappointment of Elsa, who’s not the main star anymore.
The next day, the police comes to search the premises of the camp, an anonymous tip seemed to have pointed at Dell as the man who killed the police officer. It becomes clear it was Jimmy’s idea, in order to get rid of Dell.
But the plan doesn’t go they way Jimmy had planned it, because Dell knew all about it. Another one of Elsa’s freaks, Meep, gets arrested, accused of the murder of the police officer.
Elsa tries to put the twins one against the other.
Jimmy feels responsible for what’s happening to Meep, and wants to tell the truth. But before he can do that, he finds the dead body of Meep just outside the camp’s tent.
