Ari Fitz is a model and film maker from Oakland, CA. She is most recently known for being on the MTV hit show “Real World Ex-Plosion”. You can catch the show Wednesday evenings on MTV. Continue reading for our full interview with her! 1.Could you introduce yourself?
Ari Fitz. Filmmaker, model, pusher.
2.What were you doing before the show?
Before the show, I was modeling during the day and film making in the nights/weekends. I was just kicking off my second film before I got selected and immediately shipped to the house.
3.When you found out you were accepted for the show what was your first reaction?
Complete shock. I applied as a joke, its crazy that I got that far and moved in. Second reaction was sheer terror. I wasn’t ready to have world come into my life 24/7, I wasn’t prepared to uproot my life even for the short time. I wasn’t prepared for a lot of it. But hey, sometimes you just hop in.
4.Did you find out the show would be about exes before you left or not until they showed up in the house?
I found out when I walked into my house and saw my ex girlfriend and hella other random people standing there.
5.What was your first reaction when you found out about the exes coming in?
This is going to be hilarious! Living with my ex Ashley didn’t scare me, but everyone else looked spooked.
6.When you first arrived in the house and met everyone, who interested you the most?
Interested me physically? No one. Personality, who would be my good friends is Jamie and Tom.
7.Did you have any issues with anyone in the house? If so why?
Ha! I think it’s obvious Ashley was an issue for me. Jenny was crazy to the point of annoying, but I love that girl and I learned her quirks quickly.
8.Do you enjoy modeling?
Yes, the industry is tough and it’s hard to make a living, but I am good at what I do and I love it.
9.Tell us about your film making. What kind of films do you make or would you like to make?
The stuff I like to make are horror films and thrillers. But I have made music videos, fashion films, and art films. You can check out my work here : http://vimeo.com/itsarifitz/
10.What is it like seeing yourself on TV?
Strange. I am very critical of myself, so it’s hard to watch.
11.Is there anything you really regret while recording?
Not looking my 100% best. I mean, I’ve screamed at the screen myself “WTF were you thinking Ari?” Outside of that life’s too short to have regrets with this kind of thing.
12. Has your life changed since recording ended and the episodes are starting to air?
Life is only getting more exciting. There are a lot of new opportunities coming up, new film projects kicking off, and I think the show is spurring a lot of this movement. That said, I have always been a hustler. This show is just one part of of the grander push to building my name as a horror film director.
13.Who are you closest to from the house?
Tom and Jamie.
14.What is one thing we should all know about you?
I push. I push. I push. I’m very focused on my work, on the projects I’m pushing forward. Every spare moment I get I am thinking about strategy, about shot lists, about vision, about color, about light….
Here’s me at my realest.
15.Last words for your fans/supporters?
Get gravy. Not sure what that means, get at me on Twitter @itsarifitz and I will explain.
