Only two more episodes left until the season 2 finale of Once Upon A Time. The future of Storybrooke is looking grim now that Regina is in on the secret that could take everyone home. But just what exactly are Tamara and Owen up to?
Check out our recap of tonight’s new episode of Once Upon A Time: “The Evil Queen.”
Recap:
Mirror, Mirror
The Evil Queen is still hunting for Snow White back in Fairy Tale Land during this week’s flashback. It’s more of the same. She wants to kill Snow and get her revenge only to ultimately fail. This time, she has asked Rumplestiltskin to put a spell on her appearance so no one will recognize her. While living as a peasant, she discovers her subjects will never love her and is almost beheaded. That is, until Snow White saves her and they spend the next few days together while Snow nurses her back to health. The Evil Queen is able to see that Snow still has hope for the goodness in her heart..until they stumble upon an entire village that was recently slaughtered. Ya know. For giggles.
Long live The Evil Queen.
The Back-up Plan
Don’t worry. I’m not about to start talking about that awful movie starring Jennifer Lopez. Regina has a fail-safe that will kill everyone else and destroy Storybrooke while simultaneously transporting her and Henry back to Fairy Tale Land. She shares her plans with Henry who is, obviously, not thrilled at the idea. She wipes Henry’s memory and awaits her triumphant moment.
Jacob’s List
Okay, not really. Emma discovers that Tamara has a list of everyone in Storybrooke and their real identities. Emma realizes that Tamara is the “She” August was warning them about. She enlists Henry’s help to break into Tamara’s apartment to search for evidence and show Neal the truth but is unsuccessful. For now. Tamara is a little busy at the moment.
Owen The Science Guy
Owen and Tamara show Captain Hook that he has failed at his quest, and Rumple is still alive. Now that they have a thoroughly pissed off pirate, they strike up a deal. Hook goes to Regina for help with Rumple and together, they go down to hang out with Maleficent. Regina surprises Hook by hurling him off a cliff and uses him as bait. Instead of trusting him, she’s using Hook as a snack for Maleficent, who today, is no longer a dragon. Instead, she’s looking like a demon straight out of True Blood. I’m very confused.
Regina was smart enough not to trust Captain Hook but she wasn’t smart enough to think he didn’t have something up his sleeve. Or on it. Regina had demanded Hook return a bracelet that belonged to Cora but it was a trap.
Tamara and Owen reappear to enlighten Regina to the fact she is now a science project. Owen is a nerd. The bracelet is pumping Regina’s system with all kinds of metals and things that are counteracting any magical ability Regina used to have. As for his motive? Apparently, it is no longer just about his father. We’re going to have to wait to find out.
